About me

Growing up in a town near Amsterdam, I have always lived inbetween manmade nature and cities. My fascination for our surroundings started at a young age, when I tried to copy my father taking pictures of people, nature and buildings. This interest started to grow into a hobby; experimenting with photography, art and eventually design. At 18 years old, when trying to answer the questions of what I want to be when I grow up, I chose to go study Architecture in Delft. Right now, I am passionate about changing the world we live in, starting with human interaction, homes and eventually cities. It is a dream to one day work in a small, open minded team, where we design and transform existing buildings into homes.

My vision? The world around us is ever-changing. Cities are growing bigger and higher with the day, to accomodate a growing population and urbanization. While this earth gets more crowded and people live longer, we have no problem filling every piece of land with buildings for working, consuming and living. Yet we only have one earth. So how do we make sure that every person has the home they desire, within limited space, without over filling our cities? To me, that is one of the main questions in my daily life. I walk through towns, cities, streets and homes every day. The built environment is all around us, yet we try and find solutions in building new spaces. As an architect, I want to focus on re-using existing buildings, working closely with the people that will be living in it, to make personal yet flexible designs to create the homes of the future.
