House of the Future is a modular housing concept designed to foster a deeper, sustainable connection between people and the food they consume. At its core, it features an adaptable vertical hydro-farming system, where residents can grow fresh produce within their own homes. This vertical farm grid is flexible and changes with the seasons, supporting various crops year-round. By reconnecting residents with the natural cycles of plant growth, the design encourages them to embrace healthier, seasonal eating habits.
The modularity of both the housing and the hydro-farming components ensures adaptability, accommodating diverse spatial needs and supporting the fluctuating demands of different plants throughout the year. This dynamic approach not only promotes self-sufficiency but also fosters a living environment that is intimately tied to nature's rhythms. House of the Future ultimately aims to create a model for sustainable living, where people, plants, and place work together to support a balanced, health-centered lifestyle.
